Obviously, if you set up a task to start, stop, or limit, then an opposite task needs to be configured to provide the reverse effect. Similarly, a task can be configured to stop all torrents and then close the program or even shut down the computer. There are a number of options here and you are not limited to adding just one action.įor example, you can set one task up to simply start the torrents, or also add in another action for bandwidth limiting. Then click on Add which will determine what happens. ![]() ![]() In the “Add Scheduler Task” window, enter a name for it, and set your options for which days and time the task will be executed. Click on it and then on the Add button.ģ. Close the Options window and a Scheduler button will now be present on the toolbar. There are a couple of options you might like to look at in the window such as what happens if a schedule is missed and default schedule options.Ģ. Click the Settings button on the toolbar, click on Scheduler down the left and select On from the “Active Scheduler Feature” dropdown. ![]() An average of 80-200 kBps dl/up for that kind of torrent seems like a very reasonable rate especially considering popular new torrents usually have a high amount of leechers.Īs a last resort, it may not hurt to also check your i2p bandwidth settings and ensure your settings are not limiting your connection.Tixati has quite an advanced scheduling feature, but this does inevitably come at the expense of being trickier to configure than other clients.ġ. Generally, most i2p torrents don't have anywhere near the participation of a clearnet torrent unfortunately, so it would be expected that a newly released popular monster movie would download over low-latency clearnet in minutes where the high-latency and lower population i2p network would likely take hours. In the end, the bandwidth of a torrent is most closely related to the active participation on that specific torrent (seeder/leecher ratio). It is also very important to mention that upload/download speeds are highly variable with any torrent (clearnet or otherwise) even under perfect conditions. It's possible adding a few i2p trackers to the torrent file could also improve speeds and stability (assuming official Tails 4.17 has already been uploaded to the popular tracker sites) but I was surprised to see such decent results from DHT alone, especially considering it only found roughly 6 peers. Still significantly slower than an average clearnet torrent download but still reasonable speeds. The peak download speed I got was about 120 kB/s with an average of about 75 kB/s. Using the settings mentioned above, I briefly tested the official tails torrent img (4.17) with no added trackers so it was entirely relying upon i2p DHT to find peers. I don't normally include a backup tunnel, it just doesn't seem overly important for torrents but if your router can handle it, it might help in keeping everything consistent. On my i2p router setup, 6 tunnel quantity for in/out seemed to be the happy medium for me where I saw a significant increase in bandwidth while also remaining stable. The setting that seems to improve my torrent bandwidth the most is the tunnel quantity. ![]() That way I don't have to worry about integrating into the network or other network tweaking, I just start up right away with a strong connection.Īs far as tunneling goes, I'm usually pretty happy using 3 hops, it maximizes anonymity while the only real drawback I've noticed being that the torrent may take a little bit longer to initially bootstrap but that isn't a big deal for me. The built in i2p router is certainly a great feature but I definitely had more satisfying results checking the box for "use an existing i2p install" and just ssh tunneling to my high bandwidth router that I have constantly running. Well, even though I really like BiglyBT, I only use it on occasion so there's likely much better advice out there but I'll share my experience and what has worked for me.
